Huibo Hou: “Personal Expression in Black and White Photography”
Saturday, 11/5/22, 3:00-4:30 PM EDT

Session Description: Black and white photography has a timeless appeal, and in many cases, it can touch viewers in a more profound way.  Some landscape photographers may find it difficult to work without color. In this talk, Huibo will discuss several compositional techniques to improve our vision of seeing in black and white, and a few tonal control techniques in post-processing to create expressive black and white landscape images.

Her work has been recognized internationally in recent years with multiple awards (including recognition from International Landscape Photographer of the Year, International Black and White Photography Contest, and others), and noteworthy publications (including Lenswork Magazine, On Landscape Magazine, and Elements Photo Magazine, and more).
