Highlights for Saturday, November 1
Here’s how your day could flow, with a mix of exploration, learning, and hands-on experience:
Morning (9:00 AM →)
- Arrive early and check in at the registration desk. Grab your badge (if applicable) and a program guide.
- Visit the vendor expo. This is a vibrant marketplace of gear, services, opportunities to chat with manufacturers, demo lenses/cameras, and pick up inspiration.
- Wander through the juried photo gallery. Members from our participating clubs and students whose work was chosen from our contests have their work on display. This gallery of art is large enough to spark fresh ideas.
Mid-morning to Lunch
- Catch one of the inspiring speaker presentations — bring a notebook for tips, techniques and inspiration from seasoned photographers.
- Attend a hands-on workshop (if you registered) — these are dynamic, interactive, and a chance to bring your camera and learn on the spot. Seats may be limited; if you didn’t sign up ahead, check availability.
- Networking is easy: over lunch, exchange business cards or Instagram handles with fellow attendees. The community is friendly and enthusiasm is high.
Afternoon
- Choose a photo-shoot session, if registered. Some are off-site, some are on campus. They are designed to put you behind the viewfinder in real environments. These tend to fill quickly and may already be full, so if you haven’t yet secured a spot, check our ticketing site for availability.
- Return to the vendor area to catch demos you may have missed or ask questions about equipment, workflow, lighting, or post-processing.
- Visit the gallery again. Sometimes seeing the work twice in a day gives new insight, particularly after hearing a talk or workshop. If you are a member of one of our member clubs, be sure to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award by 2:00.
Late Afternoon & Wrap-Up
- Attend a 1-on-1 tutorial session with an instructor or speaker. This is a great way to ask pointed questions about your own work and gear.
- As the event winds down, drop by any raffle or giveaway tables at the vendor zone. Many exhibitors offer fun surprises for attendees.
- Plan a final stroll through the gallery for inspiration. Some photographers offer their work for sale if you’re interested, check the tag on the photo.
- Before you leave, make a list of one or two new techniques or ideas you’ll try in the next week. This event isn’t just for inspiration; it’s for action.
