Sheila White Guevin is a conceptual fine art photographer based in the D.C. metro area, her work is exhibited and published nationally. Born in a small paper mill town in Pennsylvania, Sheila’s life journey of living in PA, KY, CT, VA, NV, TX, AL, HI, and CO before settling in Maryland gives her a unique perspective on what it means to “go home”.
Her current project, Cradle to Grave, returns to her hometown roots, a place where the town and the mill coexist as one. Through imagery of liminal spaces and quiet detail, she captures the arc of belonging—from first breath to final rest.
A passionate photographer, educator and community builder, Sheila is a Canon Professional and founder of Photo Society MD/VA/DC, an active photography community on Facebook and Meetup. She serves on the board of directors for the Maryland Photography Alliance and is a member of the Maryland Federation of Art.
Beyond her own lens, Sheila creates immersive workshops. In her curated visual labs, participants investigate raw materials of light, shadow, texture and decay.
She donates 10% of her session fees to the Anne Arundel Public Library or So Others Might Eat, supporting access to books and meals in her community.
