Join Instructor Marie Joabar for this unique nighttime photo walk photographing incredible nighttime images of DC’s most exciting monuments and memorials.

Learn tips and techniques for exciting and colorful night shots, framing for compelling compositions, and more.

Frame the Jefferson Memorial, the WWII Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial set off against the night sky. Don’t miss the chance to take incredible postcard-worthy nighttime photos of these beautiful monuments!

We’ll meet at the Tidal Basin paddle boat rental station at 1501 Maine Ave SW Washington DC 20024. http://boatingindc.com/boathouses/tidal-basin/
The closest Metro is the Smithsonian on the Blue, Orange and Silver Line. If taking Metro, the Smithsonian stop is about a 15 minute walk. The Metro closest to our ending spot will be the Foggy Bottom Station (north on 23rd St by about 10 minute walk). Please be prompt as we will start right at 5:45 pm. Contact information for the instructor will be provided to registrants.

Recommended Gear: A DSLR or mirrorless camera with lenses in the range from 14-100mm or greater. A sturdy tripod with a remote trigger.

Participants should be familiar with their camera settings and with exposure controls such as ISO, Aperture, and Shutter. We will not be able to introduce you to this material at this class. If not familiar with these topics, consider taking a Photo Basics class first at Capital Photography Center.
