About Essdras M Suarez
Essdras M Suarez is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist whose career spans more than three decades. After 20 years as a staff photographer at major U.S. newspapers, he transitioned into freelance work, quickly establishing himself as a leading voice in visual storytelling.
He served as Chief Photographer for Israeli photo start-up Million Eyez and later founded EMS Photo Adventures, a global photography education platform. Through EMS, he leads private and group workshops—both in-person and virtually—focusing on everything from documentary to portrait, food, and travel photography.
Essdras also brought his passion to television as the host of Enfoque Natural, a Panamanian travel and culture series. A new season is currently in production.
A seasoned educator and speaker, Essdras has shared his expertise across five continents. He’s presented at Harvard, MIT, and Boston University, and served as a U.S. State Department Expert Speaker. His motto, “I am photography,” speaks to the depth of his commitment and versatility.

Mid-Atlantic Photo Visions will be held at George Mason University, Mason Square, located in Arlington, Virginia, roughly 4 miles west of Washington, D.C. The event takes place November 1-2, 2025. This year’s show will include presentations, hands-on workshops, an awards presentation from our photo competitions, and multiple vendors.
