Student Competition
The contest is open to any current high school student (this includes students graduating in 2021 and students rising 9th grade students) in the areas listed below.
Here is information about our 2023 competition.
There is no entry fee. Any theme is accepted.
Students from these areas can enter images:
Washington, DC
Maryland: Frederick, Howard, Montgomery & Prince George’s counties & adjacent Maryland cities & towns
Virginia: Arlington, Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun & Prince William counties & adjacent Virginia cities & towns.
We encourage students to enter our competition can’t wait to see their photos!
Prizes:
The Grand Prize is $500. The Grand Prize winner and nine finalists win $100 each. Registration for the online Awards Ceremony opens in August.
About MAPV:
MAPV is organized and sponsored by eight photo clubs in Northern Virginia & Montgomery County, Maryland. Our mission is to promote and advance the appreciation of photography in the Mid-Atlantic Region and elsewhere; to encourage the participation in photography by individuals with all levels of experience and all areas of photographic interest; and to increase the appreciation of photographic art within our community.
